Create Localized Screenshots

AbbzThor can create screenshots of your app in multiple languages. First, prepare your app as shown in the sample project on GitHub.

Prepare Your App #

The Screenshot Creator launches your app with launch arguments that identify the screen to capture.

Your app must read these arguments and open the corresponding view automatically. Prepare any required navigation and sample content so each screen is ready to capture without manual interaction.

Install atsc #

Install atsc — AbbzThor Screenshot Creator using the instructions in Settings or the Run section.

Configure Screenshot Creation #

With Create Screenshots enabled, configure:

  • App — Select the app to capture.
  • App Source — Choose how the Screenshot Creator obtains your app.
[TODO: Describe the three source options.]
  • Languages — Select the languages you need.
  • Simulators — Select the iOS simulators to use. Copy the supplied Terminal command, run it, and copy the required simulator UUIDs from the results.
  • Capture macOS — Enable this for macOS screenshots. Choose either iOS simulators or macOS capture for a run.
  • Screens — Define the screens and launch arguments your app supports. See the sample project for preparation details.

Run the Screenshot Creator #

In Run, export your configuration and copy the generated command. Paste it into Terminal and run it.

Review and Retry #

Simulators can occasionally stall or load slowly. We recommend this workflow:

  1. Run the command.
  2. Compare the same screen on the same device across all languages.
  3. Delete any screenshots that were captured incorrectly.
  4. Run the command again. Only missing screenshots are created.
